More green and affordable homes for Bracknell

Survey shows homes becoming more energy efficient

The 2006 English House Condition Survey Headline Report has been published on the Communites and Local Government website. The survey found that the energy efficiency of homes has improved from an average SAP rating of 42 in 1996 to 49 in 2006 - social sector homes are on average much more energy efficient than those in the private sector (57.4 compared to 46.8 respectively) and are improving at a faster rate.

Eco homes planned for unused council land

An area of unused council land is set to become a development of 22 energy-efficient homes. The new development will be near Union Street, in Dursley, Gloucestershire, on an area of green open land, which planning and environmental consultants RPS Bristol believe will rejuvenate the area.
